Method for Radial Clearance Adjustment of Cylindrical Roller Bearings

What is cylindrical roller bearing
The cylindrical roller and the raceway are linear contact bearings. Large load capacity, mainly bear radial load. The friction between the rolling body and the ring edge is small, which is suitable for high speed rotation. According to the ring with or without flange, it can be divided into NU, NJ, NUP, N, NF and other single row cylindrical roller bearings, and NNU, NN and other double row cylindrical roller bearings. The bearing is a structure with separable inner and outer rings.

Characteristics of cylindrical roller bearings
1. Roller and raceway for line contact or repair line contact, radial bearing capacity is large, suitable for bearing heavy load and impact load.
2. Small friction coefficient, suitable for high speed, limit speed close to deep groove ball bearings.
3. Type N and NU can be moved axially, which can adapt to the change of relative position between shaft and shell caused by thermal expansion or installation error, and can be used as free end support.
4. The processing requirements for the shaft or seat hole are high. The relative deviation of the outer ring axis should be strictly controlled after the installation of the bearing to avoid the concentration of contact stress.
5. The inner or outer ring can be separated for easy installation and disassembly.

Method for radial clearance adjustment of cylindrical roller bearings
The commonly used methods for adjusting the radial clearance of full cylindrical roller bearings are as follows:
1. The clearance of cylindrical and elliptical bearing bush can be adjusted by manual scraping or the method of repairing and scraping after padded turning in the middle face of the bearing.
2. The top clearance of cylindrical and elliptical bearing bush can be adjusted by manual scraping or by adding pad to the facet of the bearing when the situation permits.
3. For the multi-wedge fixed bearing bush, scraping and adjusting the clearance of the bearing bush are not allowed in principle. When the clearance is not suitable, a new bush should be replaced.
4. For multi-wedge tilting bearing, scraping tile is not allowed, and the gap should be replaced when the tile is not suitable. The thickness of the adjustable tile, can be adjusted by adding stainless steel pad under the tile behind the adjusting block, or thinning the adjusting block thickness method to adjust the amount of tile. Pay attention to the multi-wedge tilting bearing bush, the thickness error between the same group of tiles should be less than 0.01mm.
